I have just returned from a wonderful 5 days at AFIC.  The conference far exceeded my expectations and I had a great time. The facility was great the food really, really good and the conference very well run.  The exhibit was so good it took my breath away.  The quality of dolls there was second to none.  Hopefully, there will be many more conferences to come in Columbus . About the AFIC experience, I and 3 other members of the Jacksonville Fabric Floozies were fortunate enough to go to the conference.  Between us we had 8 different teachers all of which were "wonderful darlings". Already praised and deserving of every bit of it are Cyndy and her staff, the hotel staff the food etc.  But nobody has mentioned the shopping.  Buying directly from the teachers Friday night, from fellow students the following nights and then there were  the wonderful variety of vendors Cyndy arranged.  Mini-stores selling beads, wool, fabric, patterns, you could even get a massage.  Imagine having Dollmaker's Journey just a few steps away from your classes, your room etc.  Their products were there to peruse and purchase and you didn't have to wait for the mail to be delivered to start playing with all the goodies.  There was also a display of their Dolls for all Seasons and the new "Elements dolls" series which were wonderful. We had such a wonderful time we asked Cyndy if we could sign up now for AFIC 2009, unfortunately she said we would have to wait for September 2008.  The good news is that gives the 4 of us time to convince the other 5 members of our club to come with us next time!!!!   Rhonda

Thanks Cyndy for a job WELL DONE!!!! I enjoyed myself and I think I woke the "sleeping creativity" inside me to get back into doll making. Everything was great, atmosphere food hotel personnel and also the show staff. Couldn't ask for more.-Sarah Lucas

It was awesome! I was in class with Ute Vasina, who is not only a gifted artist and wonderful teacher but gads of FUN! I had 2 truly sweet and good time partner students, Nancy Jo and Rosie thank you for being there!! It was such a good time, the best I've had in along time. After the past winter I needed it. The displays of dolls blew me away! Lots of talented ladies out there. it was a humbling experience to see their work. Thank You again and again,  Devona Pinkous

I was able to go to AFIC and it was the most inspiring, incredible week of my life! The people that were there were so amazing in their doll art but in whom they each are! When I walked into the display room full of dolls, the emotion in me was so deep! You didn't want to talk much or hardly breath, each one told their own story, drew you in and made you feel!   My classes were well taught, very inspiring and the teachers had lots of patience's and so willing to help you. I know I will do everything in my power to make this trip again in 2009. Cyndy and her crew went way beyond the call to make each of us feel like we were very special... I mean "chocolate dipped strawberries for lunch"! Get out of here!!!!!!!   hugs and tired, but so inspired!   Sammy

The conference was incredible. I had such a great time. The Memory Book was excellent, all the info at your finger tips. Everyone put a lot of hard work into making this conference great!!! Thank you, and your incredible staff! Can't wait till 2009!! Bonnie Janosick
