Esther’s many artistic outlets include
photography, sculpture, bookmaking, writing, and fiber arts. She has
a BA in Art Therapy and started graduate school but got sidetracked by
needle felting. Esther has
been playing with fiber and other art forms all her life. In 2005 she came
to AFIC and purchased her first set of felting needles and wool.
She hasn’t stopping felting since. Esther became so obsessed with
the felting process she opened her own studio dedicated to the felting
process. When she needed a name for her new found obsession, Esther chose
Moonrise Studio. With a husband 4 children, 1 grandchild foster children
and assorted animals all living together, the only time for felting was
after the moon had risen.
