Lillian invites students to open the windows of their imagination and have fun developing their own “poppet” character.  Students will enjoy hands-on sculpting with paper clays and later, after painting their creations, they’ll embellish their “poppet” with fanciful fabrics and trims that you have chosen to bring to the classroom. She will guide you through the process in creating a character with exaggerated features.  The eyes are also made from paper clay but are inset; this construction makes the Poppet really come alive.  This class has been designed for the Intermediate crafter or Beginner with hand sewing skills. Previous experience with paper clays (Cellu-clay and creative paper clay) is helpful though not necessary. Students are encouraged to come to the table with a rough sketch or picture of their intended project.
